Many years ago the leaders of a variety of small, local NH museums and historical societies, including the New Hampshire Telephone Museum, got together to share resources and ideas. This informal gathering grew into a larger consortium of organizations who recognize the value of collaboration. Since then, the MUSES [MUseaums Sharing Experiences] have worked together to produce a variety of exhibitions pertinent to the area and relevant to the times.
This multi-group collaboration will explore the impact of the railroad on rural New Hampshire towns and Native American groups across the United States. The goal of this exhibition is for people to look beyond the trains and stations to see the changes in society caused by railroads. A yearlong schedule of programs and exhibits can be found at www.nhmuse.org.
